HISTORY OF PHYSICS II

The History of Physics II collection, the next iteration of the collection sold to the American Institute of Physics in 2018, contains the first published accounts of the great majority of the important discoveries in physics during the past 350 years. The term “physics” is broadly defined to include closely related areas such as astronomy, astrophysics, and fields such as chemistry that were studied by physicists in earlier eras.

The collection is divided into 13 sections with titles ranging from Classical Mechanics to the Standard Model of Particle Physics. Sections are further subdivided into chapters which trace the history of an important scientific discovery or development.

History of Physics II is an even larger collection than its predecessor, with more in-depth coverage of 20th century works. Click the below link to view snapshots of two a featured sections — Special Relativity and Electricity, Magnetism, Electromagnetism, and Light — and view the collection’s Table of Contents, below.

A detailed listing of discoveries and papers in this collection is available upon request.
